  Area of Concern

SIRDI’s main area of concern is to undertake programmes for the all round development and growth of the Rural Poor and Rural Environment without consideration of caste and religion with focus on women and children to save them from all forms of exploitation and help them get a better content of rural life.

SIRDI goes about it through:

  • Study of the area and the community for resources and problems.

  • Integrated project formulation with community participation.

  • Identification of funding sources: local, national and international individuals and institutions for priority focus of attention.

Strategies adopted:

  • The child is the main focus with the mother and the family leading ultimately to the village community.

  • Maximization of rural purchasing through local village resource use.

  • Intensive operational training of grass root level local village workers.

  • Highly qualified, competent and innovative operational rural workers for the Functional Community Centre (FC).

  • Strengthening of existing and creating new horizontal and vertical linkage between each Functional Community and Micro Functional Community.

  • Interface between workers and participating community and others from time to time in get-togethers, rallies, symposia and workshops.
